“I build strong relationships with my students.” – Jennifer Atkins
Jennifer Atkins has been teaching 7th grade English at Howell Middle School for 5 years. Before she became a teacher, Ms. Atkins was working in the banking industry, but her true passion was teaching and having an impact on the younger generation. It had always been a dream of Ms. Atkins to share her love of books, writing, and literature. Her students know that English requires a lot of writing and reading. Ms. Atkins’s focus is in strengthening writing skills through proper grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. Her goal is to foster life-long readers & writers. Students know her classroom is a comfortable, safe environment where they can make mistakes as they grow. She treats her students as if they were her own kids and builds relationships with them to have students for life, not just for one year.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ms. Atkins graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. degree in Communication and Media Studies, with Honors.
