A teacher and former student of Mr. Hicks recalled how Mr. Hicks goes beyond the expectation of a teacher. “Not only does he want his students to succeed in the classroom, Coach Hicks made it his mission to make sure his students succeeded outside the classroom. I’ve never seen someone so dedicated to his students well being. While in high school, he became my school Dad! No matter the problem Coach had an answer! Every day he would ask if I had completed scholarships application and called schools for College. He wanted us to succeed and did what it took to make that happen!! Now that I am a 2nd year 1st grade teacher, he is a motivation to me to make sure to help my students in any way possible! Coach Hicks is an inspiration to anyone he comes into contact with! A blessing from God in every way.”
