Cherith Welter is an ESE teacher at R.C. Lipscomb Elementary School. She has been at the school for 10 years and has had multiple leadership roles in the school. Mrs. Welter chairs the Five Star committee, is on the committee for the Veteran’s day celebration, Relay for Life and she mentors UWF practicum students and UWF student teachers. Past employment experience include Early Childhood Development for 3 years, Youth Ministry for 3 years and she also home schooled her children for 8 years. Mrs. Welter is known as a caring and compassionate teacher who has a passion for teaching. Her motto is “Any child can learn!” Her tenacity produces academic gains and she is always there for her students. As one parent expressed, “She was my daughters special education teacher for 3 years. What an amazing woman she is. I would love to have her teach my daughter again. I never had to worry when my daughter was in her room.”
Mrs. Welter received her B.A. in General Education, ESE, ESOL and Reading and she graduated Magna Cum Laude with multiple honors. She is a member of The National Education Association and Phi Theta Kappa.
Mrs. Welter was recognized and honored with the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year for Lipscomb for 2013-2014; and Selected as ECT2 Escambia County School District 2016-2017 Exceptional Teacher.
Cherith has been married to Bill Welter for over 40 years; together they have four children. Dean and wife Shelby with their 3 daughters, Eric – unmarried, Julie and husband Jim, and Jessica and husband Corey and their 3 daughters and 1 son.
